What age is a Banwood vintage trike for?

The Banwood Vintage Trike is designed for toddlers aged roughly 1.5 to 4, and is often a child's first set of wheels.

Is a trike suitable for a toddler who cannot balance yet?

Yes — that is exactly what it is for. The third wheel provides the stability, so the only new skill your child has to learn is pedalling.

How does the Banwood trike work?

Direct pedal drive: the pedals connect straight to the front wheel, with no chain and no gears. There is nothing to slip or fail, and a first rider only has to learn one thing at a time.

What is the Banwood trike made of?

A steel frame in the classic mid-century silhouette, with a comfort saddle, easy-grip handlebars and solid rubber tires that never need inflating. It carries a 2-year warranty.

Tricycle or balance bike first?

A tricycle suits younger toddlers who cannot yet balance, and teaches pedalling and leg strength. A balance bike teaches balance and steering. Many families start on a trike and add a balance bike around age 2.5 or 3.
